Storm petrel colony

Close to the village is the world’s largest colony of storm petrel. The storm petrel is a beautiful small bird, flying only in the evening and night. Mr Jens-Kjeld Jensen, who is an ornithologist and a taxidermist, arranges nightly walks where this rare bird can be watched and, not least, listened to.

Jens-Kjeld has a wide knowledge of animals and insects and on a tour with him the fauna of the island is revealed in a breathtakingly exciting way.
